HYDERABAD: All arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of SSC examinations across the State from Thursday onwards. Nearly 13 lakh students will be taking the exams in 5,841 centres, according to Director of Government Examinations here on Monday. The exams will continue till April 9. The computerised hall tickets have been sent to the heads of institutions. Those students who did not receive the hall tickets can download them and take the exam after the headmasters of their schools attest it. The hall tickets can be downloaded from 'www.bseap.org‘, 'www.schools9.com‘, 'www.manabadi.com‘ and 'www.vidyavision.com‘. To check any malpractices, the directorate has formed 300 flying squads and had also permitted the District Education Officers (DEOs) to constitute more squads depending on the need. The director had already requested the police to book people who spread rumours on leakage of question papers and to impose prohibitory orders near the exam centres. The students have been advised to visit the examination centre in advance to avert last-minute difficulties in locating the centres. The students who are appearing first time (regular or without school study) with first language Hindi / Urdu / Tamil should write the new pattern question paper (with objective paper). HYDERABAD: The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on Monday said it would take a decision on conducting a re-examination to 24 students, whose answer scripts were got damaged due to an accident at Jungaon in Warangal, only after getting a detailed report from the police. According to BIE officials, the postal van which was carrying the answer scripts of these students met with an accident on Sunday night. While the van driver died on the spot, officials of the board, who visited the accident spot, found the answer scripts lying scattered on the road. BIE officials in a press release on Monday said, almost 220 answer scripts in the bundle were intact and only 24 were got damaged. The answer scripts belonged to students of Welfare Residential Junior College at Utnoor, Adilabad. According to G Balaramaiah, BIE secretary, the board has not decided whether evaluators will be able to check the damaged answer scripts. “If under any circumstances it is not possible to evaluate the scripts, further action will be taken including the conduct of re-examination for the students concerned. A detailed report is awaited from the police,” said Balaramaiah. The Intermediate examinations will conclude on March 22. |

HYDERABAD: Osmania University on Monday announced a revised examination schedule for postgraduate (PG) and under-graduate (UG) students. The PG semester and UG examinations were stalled midway in January due to Telangana agitations. Examinations for UG students will be conducted from March 25. In all 3.67 lakh students will appear for the examinations which will be held across 264 centres in the city and five districts of Telangana region. PG-II and IV semester examinations will be held from May 9 while I and III semester examinations from May 30. D N Reddy, in-charge OU vice-chancellor, convened a meeting of the principals of the affiliated degree and PG colleges of the university on Monday for the smooth conduct of the examinations. The VC also appealed to the students to write the examination and cooperate with the university to save the academic year.
