The qualified candidates of LPCET-2011 are informed to attend the counseling for admission into Govt. / Private Pandit Training Colleges for the year 2011-2012as per the schedule given below at KEYES GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL, NEAR SECUNDERABAD RAILWAY STATION, SECUNDERABAD.

The candidates should produce all the certificates in ORIGINAL viz (1) LPCET-2011 Rank card & Hall Ticket, (2) Pass Certificate / Memorandum of Marks of qualifying examination (3) Date of Birth Certificate (S.S.C) (4) Study certificates for preceding seven years ending with the year in which the candidate first appeared for the qualifying examination in respect of regular candidates having school study and local area certificate for specified seven years period in respect of those who have studied privately by virtue of residence for the part or specified period as the case may be issued by Tahsildar concerned (5) Integrated Community Certificate in case of BC/SC/ST candidates (6) Latest Income certificate of parents of SC &/ STs less than Rs.2,00,000/- and BC candidates claiming fee exemption if the income from all sources is less than Rs.1,00,000/- p.a. The Income certificates issued by Tahsildar after 01-01-2011 will alone be accepted (7) Residence certificate of Father/Mother for a period of 10 years in A.P, excluding the period of employment outside A.P from Tahasildar in case of Non-Local candidates and (8) Transfer Certificate.

Move over tech grads: IT firms.

A shift in the hiring pattern of IT companies and BPOs has been noticed. As companies are increasingly resorting to cost-cutting measures, instead of hiring only engineering graduates, companies are recruiting normal graduates for all lower level jobs. Simultaneously, the tech student fraternity is apprehensive about ending up working for Call centres or a BPO and so, most engineering graduates are opting for further studies, especially MBA and MCA courses.

"Hiring has seriously decreased in Andhra Pradesh and moreover, a clear shift in the hiring pattern has emerged recently. Unlike earlier trends, there is lesser demand for engineering graduates. These professionals are hired for a few posts, while for the rest of the posts, like working under a team leader, graduates from any stream are being recruited," said a senior JKC official. The hiring pattern on one hand is benefiting normal graduates, and on the other, is benefiting the companies recruiting them. The management is able to achieve cost cutting targets to some extent as the salaries paid to non-engineering graduates is between 1.5 to 2.5 lakhs per annum for entry level jobs.

In case of entry level tech graduates the package is double to begin with. The general graduates on the other hand are perfect candidates for the BPO jobs since tech ones graduates are deemed overqualified for such jobs. "Meanwhile, tech students are eager to make the most of the fee reimbursement scheme of the government and are opting for additional qualifications with MBA and MCA courses being their preferred choice. This way they acquire extra qualifications and demand better salaries, and also they do not have to think about the fees!" the JKC official added.

IT firm Prodigy flouted many norms.

HYDERABAD : It’s official now. On the day Information Technology minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah inaugurated Prodigy Solutions, a software firm at Cyber Towers, it was not even registered with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

During the investigation, the Cyberabad police had found that the company was inaugurated in January, 2011, but Prodigy management got it registered with RoC in February. They also discovered that Prodigy Solutions was also not registered with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Hyderabad, customs and income- tax authorities.

“It is mandatory for any software company to get registered with STPI and other agencies so that these companies come under the scanner of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI),” an investigating officer said.

Police found that Prodigy Solutions was started by Murali Radhakrishna with a paid-up capital of Rs five lakh along with one Ashok, who quit the partnership firm midway. Radhakrishna had ventured into business by starting a magazine ‘Prodigy’ with software and information technology-related content focusing on the student community. Later on, he started providing back-up support to two mobile phone service providers.

“After these ventures, Radhakrishna started Prodigy Solutions. He ran the company using the money collected from the unemployed youth in the name of giving training in various software courses before providing them employment,” police said. Also, Prodigy management defaulted on rent to a firm which maintains Cyber Towers on behalf of L&T. Radhakrishna took office space of 2,000sft on the sixth floor and 6,000 sft on ninth floor of Cyber Towers.

Meanwhile, Radhakrishna continues to elude police, who are still clueless about his whereabouts. It is learnt that the money in the bank accounts of Radhakrishna and Prodigy was withdrawn before he went absconding.

Radhakrishna duped nearly 2,000 youth promising jobs after collecting money ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1,75,000 from them. Most victims are from rural areas, who got lured either through the call centre executives of Prodigy Solutions or through their friends who had already joined in the software firm.
